Each release connects a Canadian landscape, a documented method, and a form that can be experienced beyond the field.

A dehydrated sourdough starter developed using wild yeasts collected in the boreal forest near Ishpatina Ridge, Ontario’s highest point.
Sterile flour-and-water cultures were exposed among the trees, then analyzed by an Ontario yeast laboratory.

Release standard
A Lodestar release is not simply themed around a location. It must have a direct and documented relationship to the landscape.
That relationship may come through a biological culture, environmental recording, photographic work, an observed route, or another method suited to the place.
Evidence before mythology. Each release should state what was collected or recorded, how it was transformed, and where interpretation begins.
